Question about Jake.

I heard a stat that Iowa is 7-1 in games throwing Pick 6's since 2009. GD is thinking about adding it to the playbook.

I think that may be true. Point I was getting to was Jake's first game vs n Illinois. It happens. Jake's came at a very critical moment. Unfortunately seems to be the same 4 yard out. A staple of the Kirk offense no matter who the oc is.

It was at Arizona Stanzi threw pick 6 that was returned 85 yards in 1st quarter that put Arizona up 14-0. We lost 34-27 I was there. :(

I was listening on the radio because the stupid game before it was running long like always. Dolph said something about a touchdown and everyone at my house started going nuts cause they thought we scored. That game was annoying for allot of reasons. Also missed the Binns pick 6 due to a storm that made the satellite crap out. Good story.

Thought that game was just business as usual for those Hawks. A Rick 6, a late come back capped with a crazy defensive score, but then we lost and they haven't been anywhere close to that level since.

This should probably be another thread but, IMO, the reason Iowa was never as good as after Arizona 2010 is because Iowa's defense has never truly been as dominant - a combination of Iowa's defense staying the same and opponent's offenses improving. And Iowa's offense has been, well, Iowa's offense.

What do ya know? Here comes another possible thread: which is why Iowa needs, IMO, an offensive shot in the arm.

KF likes to have a regularity or pattern or some kind or rhythm to each game. Throw a pick six in the first quarter, make your defense feel the pressure early in the game. Then let the offense go three and out for the rest of the firs half. Open up the binder marked "offensive gameplan" in the second half.
