What good/real offense looks like

USC vs Stanford is on Fox right now.

Watch the plays they call. They understand the endzone is downfield and that the more plays you run the harder it is to score a TD.

They value TD's. They don't consider a FG a success, just a consolation.

Watch how they treat the running game. They don't ignore it.

Watch how they treat the passing game. They use it as a weapon.

A lot of other offenses operate this way. A lot of teams that aren't as talented as Iowa.

It's not a bad thing. Imagine how exciting Iowa football would be if a big play was the highlight of a drive, not just a highlight of the game.

Gee, how much did we lose by today?

If Iowa had any sort of plan offensively they would have had backups in the game in the second half. Iowa's struggles should bother you. I wouldn't be too optimistic after next week.

Who said their struggles didn't bother me. That doesn't mean your complaining is on point (it's not), nor is it justified (not that much).

Up to now Iowa has proved that the can win next week. They have not proven anything else. Every team in the BunoG looks better than Iowa at this point.

No, it's on point.

No, it was ridiculous. For instance, you accused a team that went for it on 4th down at the one as not valuing TDs. You accused an offense that ran the ball 43 times of ignoring the run. You accused an offense averaging 9 yards per pass of not using the pass as a weapon. You accused a team that ran 71 plays and held the ball for 35 minutes of not running enough plays.

In effect, it was almost a completely absurd analysis of the game. It was clown shoes. It makes you, and anything you'll ever say look unbelievably stupid.

Very well done Ghost. Give yourself a pat on the back. No need to reply DTF. You were just bich slapped.

Your brilliance on the subject of West Coast football has inspired within me a new sense of mine own brilliance: go watch West Coast football! Root for the Pac 12/14/16! Follow and support the cheating scumbags at USC!

We certainly won't miss you here.

It's the best money can buy.

As if Ghost hadn't owned the OP enough here are the end game stats for each offense:

USC: 20/41 253 yards 0 TD 2int 6.2 ypa. 22 carries for 59 yards not including Barkley's 5 sacks for -36 yards

Stan: 14/31 215 yards 2 TD 2 int 6.9 ypa. 38 carries for 200 yards.

Iowa: 18/28 228 yards 0 TD 0 int 8.1 ypa. 43 carries for 201 yards

Let's keep in mind it was UNI. We made NIU and ISU look like USC defensively. Today was a step in the right direction because we were able to run the ball. Better teams will jam the box and force us to throw. I really liked what I saw from Bullock and Garmon today...I hope both are OK and can return soon.

Army put up 40 points on Northern Illinois. Damn, I was hoping they were just a defensive juggernaut.

Excellent points. I might add that we scored on 5 of 6 red zone possessions with 3 TD's and the one time we failed we turned it over on downs inside the one with under 3 minutes to go. That kind of efficiency, regardless of the opponent should be enough to win most games or atleast keep you in them.
The biggest problem our offense has faced this year is coming away with TDs instead of field goals when we get there, and we did. The receivers and passing game as a whole was much more proficient as well. There making strides and they definitely put up their best performance offensively, in terms of execution, so far this season.

OP also ignored the fact that Bullock was roling before he got hurt and after Garmon went down, Weisman moved from FB to HB and was able to finish the game with 113 yards on the ground. To say we didn't utilize the running game is an absolute joke. If you want to find something to complain about do so, but don't pull stuff out of the air, when there is no merrit to it what so ever.

Silas Redd put up some monster numbers as well...to bad we can't be as productive as he was, before or after he was injured.
