Dang. Seemed like we'd had a nice streak of guys not getting caught doing it anyway... There's just literally no way to drill it into teenagers/early 20 yr olds heads to not drink and drive... I for one would have no problem punishing student athletes way more than they do for those. If for no other reason then just how stupid one has to be to intentionally do it. They know it's wrong, against the law and dangerous to others more so than anything. Make the punishments tougher and this goes for the actual crime part of it as much as eligibility goes and can possibly make a difference. Slapping them on the wrist does what? It might teach/scare a few but what percentage of those busted once are again and again?
 
Must've been after that rousing Iowa basketball game last night, too much greasy, grimy, gopher guts.....;)

IOWA’S TRUITT CITED FOR LEGAL ISSUE



IOWA CITY, Iowa - - University of Iowa football student-athlete Omar Truitt was cited by Iowa City law enforcement officials this past weekend in Iowa City.



UI athletics department officials are in the process of gathering facts in regards to the incident. Truitt is subject to established university protocol in regards to the UI student life code of conduct and team rules and regulations set for members of the football program.


Truitt is a native of Fort Washington Maryland, where he attended St. Johns College High School. He did not see action as a redshirt sophomore in 2015. He redshirted in 2014.
