Jewel Hampton declares for NFL Draft

Hope he has a degree, because his chances of getting drafted with two reconstructed knees is almost zero. Good luck Jewel, oh what could have been...

Jewel Hampton, the man, the legend and greatest internet message board phenom ever. Good luck to him, but I don't see him getting drafted. I hope he doesn't hire an agent. Or is that just the NBA?

he was able to have a good yr and show he could stay healthy. he might not get drafted but the power and speed combo will get him signed. good #2 or #3 back for someone.

His best shot at getting drafted would have been if he stuck it out at Iowa. I will be shocked if he gets drafted now.

hell be lucky to end up on a practice squad

His best chance at getting drafted would have been to not blow out his knees. Where you go to school doesn't really matter. If you can play the NFL will find you.

rbs have a 2-3 yr shelf life in the nfl. he will get to a training camp and impress. in my eyes he was one of the more gifted rbs we have had under ferentz. the only problem was 2 knee injuries kept him off the field. he just has to show he is durable now.

Try telling that to all the Ferentz/DJK conspiracy theorists on here.

78 of the 84 players who used up their eligibilty at least got a FA try out I don't agree with the conspiracy nuts, but you can't kill them for thinking and/or believing it.

He is better off not getting drafted in the later rounds anyway. This way
here he will be free to pick and choose between the two or three options
he will have. I think if healthy he will at least make a practice squad.

Maybe the Jets will get him and run him a few times behind Greene. Then Jets fans can call him a great rb.

The problem with this statement is that DJK had legal issues. As far as I know Jewel left on his own and has no serious legal problems. Ferentz made the statement about how many guys get drafted that didn't finish their senior season due to discipline problems. DJK has no one to blame but himself. Jewel had some serious physical problems happen and I think it will be tough to get on a squad with that history.
