Greg Davis on 1700 Champ today after 12pm

Remember this is a global forum. 1700 on my dial is one thing where I am but something else where you are.

Got a streaming link.?

You can google 1700 the champ.

The first question was "Who is the starting QB" and, as expected, nothing has been decided. All 3 QB's are taking snaps with the 1s, 2s and 3s. He said that he would like to be able to name the starter sooner than later but not ready to yet. He also said that Colt McCoy was a rotating starter in the beginning, so this could drag into the season I.E. 2008.

How will you decide on a starting QB?

The QB will have to be able to do a lot of things right at the LOS in his system. Good decisions in the running game is a must. He wants his starting QB to think OFF SCHEDULE, limit TOs, make explosive plays and lead the team down the field while scoring points.

How is your system coming along?

The guys seem more confy this year under his system due to experience with it. The offense is working on the no huddle and a faster pace. His system is a bit like learning a new language. He said things did not start well last year and he is responsible for that.

How are the RB's looking?

All are healthy, and "I am knocking on wood as I say that".

How is the OL getting along?

Blythe doing well at center. OL s/b a strength even though we lost 2 very good starters.

What do you want to see as you close out spring practice?

Stay healthy, Execute without penaltys, stay healthy, speed things up, stay healthy, make explosive plays, stay healthy

Not sure Rudock qualifies as the QB that most equates, "make explosive plays", but the rest of his criteria he seems to fit. A facilitator/game manager that'll hit most his targets and make good decisions.

If we execute on the three yard outs drilled at the receiver as he is running directly at the sideline on the long side of the field we are ok. I really hate that pattern almost as much as I hate goulash

Goulash? Really? Man you should try my Mama's goulash MHA. Put a little sugar on top and it's amazing. Now don't turn that into a dirty joke please.

What about all audibles being a run? Thats always been a KF staple.

It is pretty bad when you would see Vandenberg stand up and bark out orders, and then the defense shifts to exactly where the run was going, and then he still runs right into them. Yet another reason why he just wasn't a gamer. It was like TecmoBowl picked his play over and over again.
