Anyone still think misdemeanors are a "big deal"?

Not necessarily a big deal, but something that should be punished. Just because other skeezy schools are lax, doesn't mean we should be.

He faces a July 17 hearing on a charge of battery, two counts of resisting law enforcement and one count of illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Calabrese is charged with one count of misdemeanor intimidation for allegedly threatening a police officer.

Is this really the same as a minor possession charge? No.

To me, Rees' crimes are much worse, but he is from Lake Forest so he must be a "good kid" and since Garmon is from Erie he must be a "bad seed"

Get over yourselves people who think we should not be as lax as sleazy ND, its the way of the world in college football.

This never ceases to amaze me.
I hate notre lame.

Hate them with a passion they are no longer relevant (since post Lou Holz)
and hopefully never will be again. Their fanbase is a bunch of loudmouth Southside Irish who never had a sniff at getting in there, and a bunch of holier than thou elitist jerks.

One thing is for sure though there is no need to take the high road here and suspend Garmon, all of college football looks the other way at the first strike, when the first offense is a misdemeanor. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS ABOUT THAT FACT.

Free Greg!

Yep. My childhood was spent in the suburbs of Chicago, and everyone seemed to be a nd fan. It puzzled me then, and it puzzles me still.
Embarrassing confession: my family dentist is an ND grad...and a very nice guy. Excellent practitioner and very likable person.

I hated ND when I was in Catholic school. I'd root for whoever they were playing. It made for interesting recess conversation.

Even worse than that, my dentist is a Nebraska grad.

To the folks who think the Garmon Misdemeanors are a big deal, take a look at how ND is handling their stars who ran afoul of the law.

Was Garmon a registered student at the time of his misdemeanor action. We know he wasnt on campus, we know he wasnt in Iowa, was he a registered student. Yes he had signed a letter of intent so this seems an interesting question of suspending someone for doing something when they might not have been a student.

Anyone know if he was registered? (And Kirk can probably do whatever he wants, personnally I would like to see garmon do extra workouts, extra classroom, but no suspension).

Whether he was registered or not is academic (pun intended).

funny, I set that one up on a tee.

I suppose if I accept a job then go do something stupid or get caught doing something stupid (like sexy emails from a school superintendent) then the business can surely negate my hiring.

I still dont see a suspension as good as other sanctions.
