Kind of a funny story. A couple of weeks ago I was out at Prairie Meadows playin a little blackjack. After a while over sits Conner Boffeli, Eric Simmons, Blythe and Donnal. They were there for Boffeli's bachelor party. Shot the **** a while and I finally asked, "So was it as obvious to you guys as it was to everyone else that CJ was better than Rudock?" One of them whom I won't name starts to "yeah...." then stops and says..."I'm just here so I don't get fined." lol

Wait, I am confused. Was he saying it was obvious that CJB was better than Rudock? Or was he saying he can not talk about it without really answering the question? And why did he not finish answering the question? Was he afraid he was going to get fined? I know it should be obvious but I can be slow sometimes.

All i know is that when Rudock was in real danger of losing his starting job, the team responded by scoring 38 points in the first half against Indiana. If it was so obvious to everybody on the team that CJB was better, why did the team respond that way?

It's rare if you can get kids to bash or throw another teammate under the bus. JR is a good guy and not a terrible qb. He just wasn't as good as or have the potential of CJ. So unless there's more to it or inside politics going on for kids to not like JR I doubt they'll give anything that could be twisted as bashing him at all. It wasn't JRs fault he was the coaches pet is the way I look at it. He played hard and did what was asked of him. I don't think his teammates begrudge him for that.

I get the feeling the team would have been ok with either guy. Just make a decision and stick with it. When the team went with a true dual QB system for the bowl game, Iowa played its worst game of the year. If they name a starter and stick with him, the offense responds better. But then again, that strategy did not work so well in 2012. Might have to re-think this.

I think this is bogus. College players can't be fined. They can be benched, etc., but they can't be fined.

They made 2 random big plays on offense. Other than that, it was a same old same old offense.

Indiana may have had the worst defense in the big 10 in 2014 and 2013.
