Not attending games?

While I get why some Iowa fans won't go to Iowa games because of how we've been performing, I have a question why people get so ****** off. If some Iowa fans dislike what we are doing as a program and they decide not to attend games or put any kind of money into the program, why does that make them no longer and Iowa fan?

I agree that when Iowa fans only check in and attend Iowa games when we are good, they are homers. No doubt about that.

I will go to Iowa games no matter the record, so don't put me on either side. But I definitely understand Iowa fans not going to games as a result of the same crap going on with no change.

Tickets are expensive and if one doesn't find going to a game worth their money it doesn't make them less of a fan. There really aren't any hardcore rules to being a fan, despite what the message board community wants you to think, you either like a team or you don't really. If you like a team you're a fan.

Would never, ever stop going to games and those that are talking that way are the very, very low minority. I say that because look at attendance when Iowa was really bad for a very long time. Still had 45 to 55 thousand showing up for games.

KF record and how the Hawks perform is going to be the reason he leaves not the fans.

I'm guessing you're trying to be ironically agreeing with me, otherwise that is a confusing response.

Yes agreeing. I'm just a bit dazed from the drive back, the play calling in the first quarter in their territory, and blinded by anger right now. Go easy on me.

I had the "bonus" of having to work today and follow the whole thing on gamecast. It's a real time saver in bad games.

I can't not check out the score throughout the game.

No, you have to keep going no matter how bad the team is or you will be branded a fair weather fan. That is why I attend at least 1 basketball game a year so I can avoid that label on here. I have been critical of the last couple basketball games so I am in danger of losing my true hawk status as we speak. Keep your fingers crossed.

Uhhhh that was a long time ago in a land far far away. Don't think for a minute that fickle fans of 21st century will keep paying high ticket prices for uninspired boring football. Unfortunately only empty seats will bring change in the modern day.

I've been too around games for the past twenty years, but havent been since Mich State last year.

It's just too depressing right now.

And yeah if anyone doesn't think I'm a fan try watching a game with me. You can say many things but you won't be able to say I'm not a fan.
