Looking for something jazzy to do in the Quad Cities

Good advice here. I'd say Great River or Front Street as the top choices. I live in Dport now for work. I can't get over how much the locals like Harris or Happy Joes. Both are terrible.

Thoughts on best avenue to pursue for getting Iowa/Maryland tickes in October?

FYI, I bought mine directly from the Maryland ticket office. Lower level, pretty good seats. They have plenty available.

Thoughts on best avenue to pursue for getting Iowa/Maryland tickes in October?

Great to hear others are going. I've got a group of 4 heading out for a long weekend. Curious to see how many make the trip.

I think the B1G Loses the B1G/ACC this year....

I had to look it up. Wikipedia says Duke is 12-2 overall in the event, 5-0 at home, 3-2 away, and 4-0 neutral. I wasn't aware they used to play some neutral games. Duke played neutral games from 1999-2002 in Chicago(one vs. Iowa) and Greensboro.

Big Ten Hoops for 2013-2014: Who Returns, Where Iowa Fits

I'd have to agree with this. And don't forget they will get Gasser back.

Home Sports College Sports Terps take turn for worse, fall to Iowa in

"“I don’t know how we kept it close, to be honest with you,â€￾ Turgeon said." Maybe because you were in the bonus 5 minutes into the second half? People say no one complains about the officiating in a win, but I'll do it. That 2nd half was brutal.

Iowa vs. Virginia announcers: Carter Blackburn and Dan Dakich

You call it stalking, but is it really when Dakich is the one who brings it up? Anyway, at least for me, the SA stuff is hardly the reason why I dislike him. I just find him to be an awful color analyst, with his inaccuracies, absurd statements, and general annoyance.

St Johns at Virginia on right now on ESPN......

The real problem is why the hell Iowa and Virginia are even in the same region.

    Tourney record by conference

First of all, why anyone cares what NBA analyst Barkley says about college games is hilarious. Second, I've seen lots of people pointing out the B1G record in the postseason. You only see what you want to see.

This may be re-has...but announcers last night...

Dakich is an awful announcer, but that doesn't mean he's an Iowa hater.

How did Boise and maybe other MWC teams game the RPI system?

So now we should treat teams differently based on the conference they are from? Thats supposed to be the whole point of all the metrics used, so teams can be compared.

Indiana State - Iowa stats, game prep

Here's KenPom's efficiency explanation: the kenpom.com blog And this has most everything else: Tempo-Free Stats for Dummies - The Only Colors The key is everything is based on per-possession basis, not per game.

How did Boise and maybe other MWC teams game the RPI system?

That's not the message that they sent by letting a team like MTSU in. What was the big game they won on the road? When did they beat several top contenders? I'm pretty sure they are padded with bad teams since 26/28 wins were below RPI 100. Why do these rules only apply to power conference teams?

How did Boise and maybe other MWC teams game the RPI system?

They either need to assign a value to all non-D1 schools like another person said, or better yet, ignore all games below 200 or 250 in the RPI.

We don't deserve an NCAA berth

I have to agree with the part about physicality and inconsistency. Isn't this really the problem though? But why does the B1G want physical games? That isn't basketball.

    Rooting Interests - Consolidated

IF they lose, its going to really suck because the opportunity was definitely there.

    Rooting Interests - Consolidated

I guess I can see that, but I honestly think Tennessee is one of the top bubble teams and they have a decent resume. So I'd rather have them in, and knock Bama out as opposed to having both in the conversation.

    Rooting Interests - Consolidated

I agree with Tennessee over Bama, though not everyone does. I don't see much impact either way, but whats the reasoning behind Indiana?
