Quote from Kirk at today's presser:
Ferentz: "We're probably the team that's not supposed to be there, so what the heck. Let's go cut it loose and see what happens."
Hard to say considering most recruits are locked in to a school by now anyways. I also wouldn't throw dirt on this class either. A lot of recruits in this class had monster senior seasons that elevated their profile. And yeah I'll say it, Iowa has about 3 or 4 recruits that would likely have...
That being said, Farniok does have a scholarship to Florida State. Also has an offer to MSU and although he still may do a few nights in jail in East Lansing, he wouldn't miss any game time.
According to 247 Iowa has not officially offered but is listed as a school of interest. I'm guessing Iowa has been holding out for Farniok and Foster has been committed to Minny until now. If the kid has serious interest in Iowa, this could give Iowa some leverage with Farniok to make a...
Yeah I agree, Henry will likely get it because of the exposure he's had. And that wouldn't be a bad pick but it shouldn't be so cut and dry as it seems to be when discussed on talk radio, tv etc.
Everybody on 247 is predicting Farniok to Nebby. Either kid would be a good get but if Farniok falls through, Foster would be a nice recruit to fall into Iowa's lap.
Given how young they are, there is a good chance of this happening. They're only going to get better as they gain experience and they have talent. That Ellenson kid is good and will get better as he adjusts to the competition. I think it will be a quality win for the Hawks come resume time.
I assume he thinks the Hawks will lose to Nebby and it's been obvious this past week that he's been frustrated with Hawkeye fans and Iowa media coming at him on Twitter.
Proof's in the pudding. Hard to even defend the "depth" of the SEC this year. Fact is, there is a large drop off after Alabama, even if they are the most talented team in the country. SEC did themselves no favors with this weeks schedule.
Exactly, you have to be so dead set on your own personal agenda not to put Iowa in the top 4. At least for this week. Obviously a loss to Nebby would change things, but as of now the Hawks are 11-0. I think the committee has been fair to Iowa to this point. It's more the talking heads that...
I'd use CJF as an example. He never threw anyone under the bus while playing for Iowa. Then in an interview after being drafted, he hints that he didn't like how Davis was using him at Iowa. I'm sure there were times while at Iowa that he wanted to say it, but didn't for the sake of the team.
It is enlightening and gives a look behind the curtain of the chemistry of this year's Buckeye team. I just thought it was a different take that wasn't necessarily bashing the kid from a credible writer. I personally think even if he feels that way and even has a good argument, you don't say...
No, it's not relevant in the grand scheme of the playoff, but it is an observation of an outsider's national perspective that appears questionable. Therefore it'll get some discussion. I think people can talk about something without getting too worked up or having to relax.
