Both teams are similar and Miss State is #8 and Iowa is #11 in the Sagarin ratings. So, records aside, these are 2 solid teams. However, Miss State got boat-raced at Kentucky and Iowa was competitive in our 4 losses.

Agreed. They earned it with the 8-1 conference record, compared to our 5-4 record. I, mainly, looked at the 5 teams in 6 years with both Iowa and NW being in there, once. Of course, if both Georgia and Oklahoma lose, than Ohio State slips into the CFP and that changes everything.
