    Let the portal madness begin

Iowa received a WR commitment from Tony Diaz from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. 5'11" and 176 lbs with three years of eligibility remaining. Had offers from Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Arkansas and Virginia Tech. Given the competition it looks like a good pickup.

    CFP Semi Finals

I wish the entire playoffs were done by Jan. 1 too. What I meant by staying out of the NFL's lane is that this week's games and the final game next weekend all avoid Saturday and Sunday when the NFL playoff games are on.

    CFP Semi Finals

College FB is clearly trying to stay out of the NFL's lane.

    Offensive ideas from Pat Harty

Exactly. This is pretty much what Beth Goetz said in an interview with Chad L. of the DM Register. Iowa is not a poor step child in the NIL game. Blue blood money? No. And we never will be. But able to complete just below that top level.

    Let the portal madness begin

Who knows what LSU was offering him but it had to be more than UW. I think he met with his advisors and lawyers and decided he probably wasn't going to prevail when UW pushed back.

At this point I will just say that we agree to disagree. And I am satisfied with us passing on the Kasper kid.

    Let the portal madness begin

Nobody outside of Kasper and BYU has any real idea of the amount of money he got to go there. He might have gone there as much for opportunity as anything at this point. For me, the statute of limitations is pretty well up after four years. Time to move on. If he's been injured for all...

    Offensive ideas from Pat Harty

Under BF, yes. Under Tim Lester, at least it is worth waiting for and the offense was productive and is still improving. It took Gronowski a half season to start to see the field better. If he hadn't been forced to sit out until fall camp he may have been ready. Or at least much more so...

    CFP Semi Finals

I tend to agree but don't think it will be two scores. These games are fun.

    Let the portal madness begin

Kasper has a grand total of 6 catches in 4 years. And you'd take him over a RS Freshman who didn't play a down (Smith) and another guy in Buie who was injured all year? Smith was a four star who a lot of the coaches think has a bright future and the same could be said for Buie. Buie was ahead...

    Offensive ideas from Pat Harty

I think his shoulder was OK all season although I can't say that with any certainty. To me, his shortcomings in the first half of the year were more due to the space above his shoulders. I just don't think he had enough time and experience to get Tim Lester's complex offense early on. As the...

    Let the portal madness begin

That game is a big reason I think Leighton Jones has the edge at LG going into spring practice; he graded out pretty well in that game filling in for Beau Stephens. He was pretty highly recruited out of HS and this will be his fourth year in the program. As you mention, we need depth and I...

    Let the portal madness begin

I doubt that he is ready at this level. He just completed his RS Sophomore year. We have Leighton Jones and Kade Pieper pretty well set for next year's guard positions. Could be wrong but I think they got this kid for development for the future. And depth, of course.

Very disappointed to hear this. It has to be all about the $$.

DT Brice Stevenson Transfer Commits To Hawks

I trust the defensive coordinator who has held opponents to under 20 points per game for 10 straight years. The only FBS school to do that. It's obvious that we don't have the huge amount of funds other schools have and we cannot get into a bidding war with them. These actions are doing...

@AreWeThereYet has retracted the 0, apparently it is 5. Still not a lot of players following him to Ames.

    Let the portal madness begin

I get that part of it but there are always players that want to follow the coach they've been with. And you would think ISU would have more NIL to spend than WSU (I could be wrong about that). Completely agree about the scenery. Especially since WSU is in Eastern Washington. Mountains and...

    Dakin Gone

I saw that Nebraska got a QB commit from the portal. He was the backup QB at Notre Dame last year. Highly recruited kid out of HS. I'm sure Husker Nation is ready to start printing the national championship gear right now.

    That's pretty shocking.
