Idk how many times I heard the phrase "...You can't fault the effort" tonight.

Minnesota @ #4 Iowa Game Thread

It's refreshing to be confident in a game where we bring our C+ stuff. I really don't want this to go down to the wire, but I think we'll end up sealing it with 1:45 or so left. On a side note: I don't know about you guys, but if 6 year old me was watching this game through the BTN2Go app, I...

Questions regarding the Big 10 Tournament

I made my first trip to Indianapolis for the FB championship, and really liked the vibe. I can't even imagine how cool it'd be to have upwards of 14...er...12 (Not sure if Minny or Rutgers would consider it worth the trip :p) Big10 fanbases unleashed on the city. So I wanna make it back for the...

Really? Were we in some kind of groove?

    Go watch the game again..

I wasn't a fan of a couple of the calls against Melsahn. White and McCabe needed his body in there to counter the brute physicality we were matched up with.

    Tennesse fan scouts Iowa

Exactly. Come tournament time--especially a play in game--the mentally stronger team has to be considered the favorite. It's too bad we have such a propensity to lose close games, as I could see us competing with anyone on our side of the Midwest.

Has the 1-5 Skid Really Been That Bad?

It's bad in that we haven't played well, but as you say it's not necessarily bad in terms of our NCAA tourney forecast. We can play with anybody, and while that's been part of the problem in trying to close out the B1G season, our depth gives us the firepower to make any tournament game...

    Excellent Preview on Michigan Site

"Michigan is the second best team in the country at not fouling and Iowa gets to the line more often than anyone in the Big Ten. The Wolverines are playing at home, which should provide an advantage, but their ability to avoid fouling will be tested." Unfortunately, I think it comes down to...

Official Iowa v Wisconsin Game Thread

STOP PLAYING TO GET FOULED!!! It doesn't work against Wisconsin, and it especially doesn't work in Madison.

    Fran conversation from ESPN

Fran McCaffery of Iowa Hawkeyes talking longevity, building program - ESPN Had no idea he'd been a head coach for so long (started at 26!!) Really like the way he comes across as both a communicator and a coach

    Andrew Wiggins to Kansas

I'd take that bet, not to show up a Hawk fan trying to clown a clone, but Kansas will be a bit sporadic IMO. Wiggins is still the best player yet to play a professional/college game though...

Is NIT success an indicator of upcoming regular season success?

I just wonder what kind of stock to put into this tournament, as originally I would've been very disappointed to not make MSG. However with the likely lack of a 2nd home game, I'm not confident in the least bit on Iowa's NIT chances. That being said, if we win two games, does that lower your...

    Only 5?

So would we have been better off getting to play either Illinois/Minnesota in the 1st round, then hoping that another win over one of them would look better than beating Northwestern and then losing to MSU?

Golf with the Hawkeyes at Wakonda Club on 6/18

Are there any more details on the event? I'm not interested in participating, but we might be covering this at the DI..
