    Write it down...

Nebraska is closer to Purdue than OSU, Iowa is very much not in that current state. Granted we didn't get it done, but the Oregon and Indiana games were well within reach at the end. Will we ever be consistently at an OSU level? Probably not. Can we beat any of those teams on a given night...

    Donavon Raiola

Part of this is because Nebraska's O-line is as porous as swiss cheese, but I'd rather face Raiola than a healthy Lateef. Mobile QB's traditionally give us fits. Raiola holds onto the ball way too long and still makes a lot of erratic throws

    PSU and ISU schadenfreude

There aren't many schools I would take much delight in that situation but Penn St is definitely one of them with their history. Nebraska has proven that the model of "we're too good to only win 9-10 games so fire everyone" is a recipe for mediocrity unless your name is Alabama

"IF" this is indeed Kirk's swan song, who do you want?

It's true, though not many coaches have a tree as successful as Hayden did. The fact that our successful coordinators like the Parkers have been so fiercely loyal speaks volumes about Kirk though. I'm sure Woods has had opportunities, and I think he definitely deserves consideration when Kirk...

    Possible Bowl game

I agree it is a rather dubious distinction. With the expanded playoffs, bowl games are even more meaningless than before overall, but I guess at least it's somewhere warm. We really need the ranked opponent win monkey off our back, that will hopefully provide some extra motivation.

"IF" this is indeed Kirk's swan song, who do you want?

Ah, makes sense. Sorry I haven't been in the loop for a bit! Thankful with the announcement that we don't have to worry about this for at least another year anyway. The coaching pool this cycle is less than ideal

    Possible Bowl game

Penn St is a no brainer for the Pinstripe Bowl. I don't see Iowa going anywhere other than Tampa, probably to play Tennessee. The good news is we won't see Iamaleava, the bad news is they are probably better without him

    More Nebbie Dysfunction

If you look more closely at Rhule's resume, he really hasn't ever done much against Top 25 schools. He usually leaves as soon as they get that quick turnaround before having to show real results. He would have been a disaster if he got the Penn St. job. Nebby's problem is they keep trying to...

Thoughts on Bielema? He has struggled a bit as of late but would be an otherwise good fit IMO if we could afford him

    Do Jewell and Jackson play?

The tax slayer bowl wasn't worthless?

Will Iowa Escape From New York with a Bowl Victory?

Same here. I have no real evidence/reasons to back that up other than the last time we played an ACC team in a bowl it went pretty well.

    How many people on here...

No, it doesn't work like that anymore. First of all there are limitations on how many times a team can go to the same bowl in a short amount of time now and it's been on record that Delaney would like to see 5 or 6 different B1G teams in NYC in 7 years. Second, with Delaney having a say in...

    North Dakota: Thugs R Us

I love Fran and his loyalty to his kids but he has to lead by example. You can't preach about not getting caught up in heat of the moment when he did exactly that. Glad he apologized this morning but he could have saved himself a lot of grief by taking the high road and shaking hands.

Are we the third best team in Iowa?

Vinny Testaverde is 11th all time in passing yards and has 6,000 more yards than Joe Montana. So clearly he's the better passer right??

SEC land article on KF and GD...

If we can win the turnover battle we should be fine. Appleby is prone to making big mistakes, we have to capitalize and make them pay. If we do that, takes some pressure off the offense.
