    Position by Position Thoughts-2018

Fair point. Poor WR play, which is what Iowa fans are used to, will stunt his growth as a QB.

    Position by Position Thoughts-2018

Until I see 2-3 WRs who can consistently create separation, get open, actually catch the ball, and move the chains I'll always be an Iowa WR skeptic. If Stanley is ever going to reach his full potential this needs to happen.

    Position by Position Thoughts-2018

QB- Stanley exceeded all my expectations last year. He'll continue to have growing pains, but his future is bright. RB- Iowa fans have good reasons to be worried here. Young has shown flashes, and the coaches must like Kelly-Martin or they wouldn't of burned his redshirt. Bryan has been...

Crippling Recruiting Miss: 6 WRs in 2013

Iowa has never recruited the WR position well. I remember Hayden Fry saying towards the end of his tenure that one of the things that frustrated him the most during his time as HC was how difficult it was, year in and year out, to recruit speedy, dynamic WRs to Iowa. And with the exception of...

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

I love Saturday mornings in the fall too. Turning on College Gameday while enjoying my morning coffee. Doing some work in the yard/garage while listening to the pregame show on 1040 WHO. And then the game starts.........

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

Absolutely agree with this! JR is who Ferentz really wants to be Iowa's QB, but because of outside influences and the fact Ferentz has a balance of 0 in the "Iowa Fanbase Goodwill Account" he switched QBs.

    That's a fair point.

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

I agree. The issues with Iowa Football go beyond spending more time in the football facility, running game coordinators, visiting other schools, etc. The program is circling the drain and the only way to stop that is new leadership.

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

With CHA renovated and the new football facility complete and given this Field Hockey mess the timing seems right for Barta to move on. I want a new AD sitting next to Ferentz announcing his "retirement".

Kirk Ferentz hopes that too! He really, really, really hopes that!!! ;)

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

Since the announcement that JR is transferring to Michigan I, too, am looking forward to seeing how he performs has their QB. If he had a wildly productive year.......Oh Boy!! Even so CJB is the better option at QB. He may be more mistake prone, but his abilities give the Iowa offense...

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

The end of the Ferentz era is tied directly to the perfomance of CJB. If he succeeds the Ferentz era should end well, but if he doesn't the Ferentz era ends badly. And that would be a shame!

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

Agreed! I still don't understand why we didn't have more of an open mind to recruiting a few JC linebackers to soften the blow of losing Kirksey, Morris, and Hitchens. Our LBs last year were physically overmatched!!

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

Given the fact that we're approaching year 17 of the Ferentz era any criticism of Iowa's offensive issues directed at Ferentz is hardly "undeserved". I agree that JR never got the benefit of the doubt from fans and I think it's because he never passed the eye test for most fans. JR made...

Iowa Football: What are you looking forward to?

I suppose you're right uihawk82. The frustration from last year is still lingering for me and while I believe everything I've written today I could be less negative.
